While escaping the urban jungle, the DH Crew took a little retreat to the mountains and discovered something truly Dope! In 2011, wildfires ravaged the Apache National Forest burning nearly half a million acres. We just had to photograph the natural beauty of the forest and how it has overcome the devastation of this tragic event. The rich yellow color of the ground cover was truly Dope and inspiring of Nature’s resilience.
Something else that caught our eye, was the ingenious design of the “jacks” like structure found in this run-off bend to prevent erosion. At first, it looks like an art installation in the middle of nowhere. But, this design keeps the soil and ground debris at bay and avoid further erosion of the mountainside. Truly Dope!
